FASTING—
INTRODUCTION
THIS WRITING IS AN ANSWER TO A QUESTION FROM A READER, SHOULD WE FAST
NOW AS THE VERSE BELOW?ZECH.7:5 Speak unto all the people of the land, and to the
priests, saying, When ye fasted and mourned in the fifth and seventh month, even
those seventy years, did ye at all fast unto me, even to me? The end has come
upon God’s people and they are gathering wine and summer fruits. Isaiah 58 is
prophecy for today.
THE ANSWER IS IN THIS VERSE----

WHAT IS WRITTEN IN
RED ARE FACTS GATHERED FROM GILLS COMMENTARY—PERTAINING TO HISTORY OF ISRAEL AND JUDAH,
--we have to get historical, geographical facts from other sources which are
provable from scriptures, AND books of history of Physical Judah, but the
spiritual explanation by us today, is solely based on scriptures and what has
happened in God’s church (fulfilled prophecy) as proved from the Laodecian leader’s
own writings.
WHEN JEWS WERE CAPTURED PHYSICALLY, THEY HAD TO FAST TO GET THE
ATTENTION OF THE ETERNAL.
TODAY, UNLESS WE FAST WE CANNOT DRAW CLOSER TO GOD. WE ARE GIVEN
SPECIFIC COMMANDS TO OBSERVE WHEN WE FAST AND WE HAVE TO FAST FOR SPIRITUAL
REASONS.—AS WE HAVE TO WORSHIP GOD IN SPIRIT AND IN TRUTH.UNLESS AND UNTIL WE
YIELD TO GOD SPIRITUALLY, AND DESIRE SPIRITUAL, RATHER THAN WORLDLINESS, GOD
CANNOT WORK IN US. EVEN JESUS CHRIST FASTED FORTY DAYS---HE DID A SUPREME FAST
AND SHOWED US THE VALUE OF FASTING! ---A SINLESS GOD BEING ---AS A MAN
----FASTED! ----WE? ---WHAT COULD WE THINK OF US?
The sole fast
required by the law of Moses was that of the great Day of Atonement (q.v.), #Le
23:26-32 It is called "the fast" #Ac 27:9
THESE FASTS WERE COLLECTIVELY OBSERVED AS A CONGREGATION.
PERSONALLY IF ANY SOUL DESIRES TO FAST AND SEEK GOD’S ATTENTION WE MAY
SO DO AS KING DAVID SOUGHT GOD’S ATTENTION WHEN HIS CHILD WAS SERIOUSLY
SICK!
The only other
mention of a periodical fast in the Old Testament is in #Zec 7:1-7 8:19 from which it appears that
during their captivity the Jews observed four annual fasts.
JEWS HAD OBSERVED THESE FASTS DURING PHYSICAL CAPTIVITY OR TO
COMMEMERATE SOME INCIDENT THAT IS SPECIAL TO THEM, WHERE GOD HAD TO INTERVENE
FOR THEIR SAKES.

INCIDENTS HAVE HAPPENED SPIRITUALLY IN CHURCH—AT THIS END TIME, AMONG SPIRITUAL
JEWS, AS WE SEE BELOW.
HISTORY HAS
REPEATED!--- Isa 46:10- Declaring the end
---from the beginning, And from ancient times things that are not yet
done, Saying, ‘My counsel shall stand, And I will do all My pleasure,

created now and not from the beginning;
NOW THE END IS BEING
DECLARED FROM ANCIENT THINGS HAPPENED IN THE BEGINNING---AND THEY ARE CREATED
AT THIS TIME---GOD ALLOWED THESE THINGS TO HAPPEN LIKE IN HISTORY OF
1. The fast of the
fourth month, kept on the seventeenth day of Tammuz, the anniversary of the capture of
JER.39:2—IN THE END TIME IT
HAPPENED SPIRITUALLY IN CHURCH---SPIRITUALLY THE CITY WAS PENETRATED.
VS.2-- And in the eleventh year of
Zedekiah, in the fourth month, the ninth day of the month, the city was PENETRATED—captured!
We have written that A. Harrison
is a type of Zedekiah (please read basket of figs in our website)---He was a type of king of
Judah and he went along to Babylon from Jerusalem (Jer.24:1), for false worship
and thus Jerusalem spiritually was captured by King of Babylon.

Jer.52:12-- Now in
the fifth month, in the tenth day of the month, which was the

And burned the house of the LORD, and the king’s house; and all
the houses of Jerusalem, and all the houses of the great men, burned he with
fire:

The enemy has damaged everything in the sanctuary. WE KNOW IT HAS
HAPPENED—by bringing in the Sabean uncircumcised into the altar----read-“ Bamah
matter”, “tabernacle witnesses”, “almond rod”---in our website.

to Your sanctuary; They have defiled
the dwelling place of Your name to the ground.

seventh month, kept on the third of Tisri (comp.) #2Ki 25:1. The anniversary of the murder of Gedaliah

JER.41:1.2 –GEDELIAH IS A TYPE OF THE HIGH PRIEST AND KING IN CHURCH.
1--- Now it came to pass in the seventh month,
that Ishmael the son of Nethaniah the son of Elishama, of the seed royal, and the princes of the king, even ten men
with him, came unto Gedaliah the son
of Ahikam to Mizpah; and there they did eat bread together in Mizpah.
2-- Then arose Ishmael the son of
Nethaniah, and the ten men that were with him, and smote Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan with the
sword, and slew him, whom the king of
Babylon had made governor over the land.
King’s children are the seed of royal—therefore
spiritually the ministers are the seed of the leader. The ministers are
rebellious too (Ezk.3:25—and we know they are!). They were not warned and thus
their blood is also upon the leader (Ezk.3:18, 19), and he has not saved his
soul.
People came to the type of
Gedeliah, to Mizpah---.MIZPAH—IN HISTORY WAS WHERE SAMUEL JUDGED EVERY
YEAR—I Sam.7:16, and people gathered
at Mizpah, and they fasted and repented.
AT MIZPAH THEY GATHERED SUMMER
FRUIT IN ABUNDANCE!
Jer 40:12 --then all
the Jews returned out of all places where they had been driven, and came to the
WHAT IS WINE AND SUMMER FRUIT?
Am 8:1 -Thus the Lord GOD showed
me: Behold, a basket of summer fruit.
Am 8:2 -And He said, "Amos, what do you see?" So I said,
"A basket of summer fruit." Then
the LORD said to me: "The
end has come upon My people
If you see the summer fruit—that means the end has come—God will not
be with them!

summer fruit for the young men to eat; and the wine, that such as be faint in
the wilderness may drink.
SO SUMMER FRUIT IS FOOD IN
WILDERNESS AND WINE WHEN YOU THIRST IN WILDERNESS!
WHEN SPIRITUAL ISRAEL AND JUDAH ARE IN SPIRITUAL CAPTIVITY—IN SPIRITUAL WILDERNESS—IN
BABYLON---THEY ARE HUNGRY—AND THIRSTY BECAUSE IN WILDERNESS YOU DO NOT GET GOOD
FOOD---THEY DO NOT GET GOOD FOOD FROM GOD AS HE IS NOT PASSING BY THEM ANYMORE.
THIS IS A FAMINE OF THE WORD,
WHICH IS A SPIRITUAL PUNISHMENT FOR THE HOUSE OF
NOW THE NEED IS ARISEN FOR THEM TO
FAST AND PRAY AND ASK GOD TO BE MERCIFUL—OUR GOOD LORD IS MERCIFUL—HE IS
WAITING FOR THEIR FAST AND REPENTANCE TO FORGIVE AND EMBRACE THEM.WHAT A JOY IT
WILL BE?
I Sam 7:5-- And Samuel said, Gather all
Jer. 9:21 For death is come up into
our windows, and is
entered into our palaces, --Vs.22 Speak, Thus saith the LORD, Even the carcasses
of men shall fall as dung –vs.23--
Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither
let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his
riches:--Vs.24-- But let him that
glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the
LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth:
for in these things I delight, saith the LORD.---
vs.25 Behold, the days come,
saith the LORD, that I will punish all them which are circumcised with the
uncircumcised;----vs.26
Egypt, and Judah, and Edom, and the children of Ammon, and Moab, and all
that are in the utmost corners, that
dwell in the wilderness: for all these nations are uncircumcised, and all the house of Israel are uncircumcised in the
heart.
Isa.5:13 -Therefore My people are gone into captivity,
because they have no knowledge: and their honourable men are famished, and
their multitude dried up with thirst.----vs.14 -Therefore hell hath enlarged herself, and opened her mouth without measure:
and their glory, and their multitude, and their pomp, and he that rejoiceth, shall descend into it.
It is very clear that houses of
ALL THESE MEAN SPIRITUAL DEATHS OF
THE LEADERS.
1 Sam 7:.6-- And
they gathered together to Mizpah, and drew water, and
poured it out before the LORD,
and
fasted on that day, and said there, We have sinned against the LORD. And Samuel
judged the children of

THEY REALISED THAT THEY HAD SINNED—and they FASTED AND REPENTED!
SAMUEL SHOWED THEM THAT THE PEOPLE
SHOULD GIVE UP ALL IDOLS, STRANGE GODS FROM AMONG THEM—THEN HE WILL DELIVER OUT

Remember Isa.46:10---God speaks from the
beginning---He shows incidents of old which is happening now—and therefore we
ought to understand why the major and minor prophets are speaking about these
former incidents---to repeat ----please understand that the former things are taking

THAT WERE PUT BEFORE GOD HAS TO BE PUT AWAY---GIVE UP WORLDLY WAYS ---HUMBLE

4. The fast of the

JER.38:28, 39:1 –THIS DAY IT IS

JER.38:28--- So Jeremiah abode in
the court of the prison until the day that

favour were sometimes held.

also did Elijah #1Ki 19:8 Our Lord fasted forty days in the wilderness #Mt 4:2
In the lapse of time the practice of fasting was lamentably abused #Isa 58:4
Jer 14:12 Zec 7:5 Our Lord rebuked the Pharisees for their hypocritical
pretences in fasting #Mt 6:16 He himself appointed no fast. The early
Christians, however, observed the ordinary fasts according to the law of their
fathers #Ac 13:3 14:23 2Co 6:5
GOD SAYS WE HAD NOT
FASTED PROPERLY DURING THE PAST 70 YEARS—read

SHOULD REALISE—FAST WITH TRUE REPENTANCE---THE DAYS ARE DRAWING NIGH---WE MUST
PREPARE FOR THE D-DAY—GIVE UP ALL MALICE—WICKEDNESS—PUT ON BOWELS OF
MERCIES—AND TURN TO THE LORD OUR GOD!
WHY IS GOD SEPERATED FROM CHURCH?
ISA.59:1- Behold, the LORD’S hand is not shortened,
that it cannot save; neither His ear heavy, that it cannot hear:--2- But your iniquities have separated between you
and your God, and your sins have hid His face from you, that He will not hear.—
-3- For your hands are defiled with blood, and your
fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue hath muttered
perverseness.-----4- None calleth for justice, nor any pleadeth for truth: they
trust in vanity, and speak lies; they conceive mischief, and bring forth
iniquity.
THERE IS NO PEACE TO THE WICKED
ISA.57:15 --For
thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place,
with him also that is of a contrite
and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive
the heart of the contrite ones.
IN A SERMON OF WICK
HEERMA—WHICH WE HEARD ON 04/12/2004—ABOUT GOD’S HOLINESS
He said –“we cannot be
holy if we are worldly-he quoted Rom.7:12, Num.15:38-40, --- Law, commandments
are holy---he said God’s promises are conditional—and what is holy?---he answered—pure,
clean, sanctified, consecrated, dedicated, used by God—he quoted—Lev.20:7, and
ex. 19:3-6”
And God says----
ISA.57:16- For I will not contend for ever, neither
will I be always wroth: for the
spirit should fail before Me, and
the souls which I have made.---GOD HAS MADE OUR SOULS---AND WE SHOULD
BE OF A BROKEN SPIRIT!---HE IS OUR MAKER!
ISA 57 --ARE STRONG
WORDS FOR TRANSGRESSORS IN GODS LAND –THEY ARE NONE OTHER
THAN THE LEADERS MENTIONED IN ISA.56:10,
11—they are called greedy, dumb dogs—they
cannot correct God’s people---they slumber, so how can a bride be ready?—when the
master comes they won’t be ready---they do not teach to repent
and create a humble heart, so that God could dwell with us ---but covet for
personal, worldly things to exalt themselves!
Isa.57:17-- For the iniquity of his covetousness
was I wroth, and smote him: I hid Me, and was wroth, and he went on frowardly
in the way of his heart.—GOD HID HIMSELF!
18 -I have seen his ways, and will heal him: I will
lead him also, and restore comforts unto him and to his mourners.---GOD IS WAITING
TO FORGIVE—WHO MOURNS AND REPENTS AND TURN TO HIM—GOD WILL HEAL THEM.
19-I create the fruit of the lips; Peace, peace to
him that is far off, and to him that is near, saith the LORD; and I will heal
him.
BUT THE WICKED ARE LIKE
THE STORMY SEA WHICH CANNOT REST! ---NO PEACE TO THEM!
20- But the wicked are like the troubled sea (as they are in the
red sea spiritually, governed by Pharoah), when it cannot rest, whose waters cast up
mire and dirt (in a mire God would not listen to prayers-Job 30:19, 20).
21 -There is no peace, saith my God, to the wicked.
GOD’S CHILDREN ARE NOW GONE ASTRAY AS
THEY HAVE NOT REPENTED OF SPIRITUAL HARLOTRY AT BAMAH--
ISA.57:3-- But draw near hither, ye sons of the
sorceress, the seed of the adulterer and
the whore.
GOD IS VERY ANGRY—SEE FROM THESE
WORDS!
4- Against whom do ye sport yourselves? against whom
make ye a wide mouth, and draw out the tongue? are ye not children of
transgression, a seed of falsehood,---
Picture yourself with
your mouth wide opened and tongue out!---God sees you like that!----and God
says we are looking at Him like that!
5- Enflaming yourselves with idols under every
green tree, slaying the children in the
valleys under the clefts of the rocks?—DISFELLOWSHIPPING,
SPIRITUAL SLAYING OF CHILDREN IS VERY COMMON IN GOD’S CHURCH!
6- Among the smooth stones of the stream is thy portion; they,
they are thy lot: even to them hast thou poured a drink offering, thou hast
offered a meat offering. Should I receive comfort in these?---
THE SMOOTH STONES—THOSE WHO
JUST GO ON WITHOUT ASKING QUESTIONS FROM THE LEADERS---GOD DOES NOT WANT
SACRIFICES FROM SMOOTH PEOPLE!—those who do not want to fight for God!
13-- When
thou criest, let thy companies deliver thee; but the wind shall carry them all
away; vanity shall take them: but he
that putteth his trust in Me shall possess the land, and shall inherit My holy
mountain;---ONLY THOSE WHO TRUST GOD AND
REPENT, AND GET AWAY FROM THE SINNING CHURCH WILL BE ACCEPTD BY THE TRUE GOD OF
HEAVEN!
14-- And shall say, Cast ye up, cast ye up, prepare
the way, take up the stumblingblock out of the way of My people.---THE STUMBLING BLOCKS—THE HEAD PF THE BEAST POWER ---who projects other things like----HWA

ISAIAH
58----is prophecy for today—
To
correct God’s children!
We are commanded by
God-----Isa.58:1-- Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and shew My people their
transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins.
VS.2 Yet they seek Me daily, and delight to know My
ways, as a nation that did righteousness, and forsook not the ordinance of
their God:---THEY PRETEND THAT THEY SEEK GOD!—HYPOCRITES---BUT YOU CANNOT CHEAT
GOD—HE KNOWS THE HEARTS!
VS.3-- Wherefore have we fasted, say they, and thou
seest not? Wherefore have we afflicted our soul, and thou takest no knowledge?
Behold, in the day of your fast ye find pleasure, and exact all your labours----.THROUGH
THE FAST THEY DO NOT TAKE KNOWLEDGE AND ACT UPON IT---YOU CANNOT PLEASE GOD BY
MERE WORDS!---THEIR FAST IS A PRETENSE!

your voice to be heard on high.---TO HAVE FASTED
FOR WRONG REASONS---AGAINST GOD’S WILL---THE MAIN REASON WHY WE SHOULD FAST IS TO ASK FOR
FORGIVNESS, TO MAKE US RIGHT WITH GOD AND TO MAKE US HOLY LIKE UNTO HIM,
SO THAT HE IS PLEASED WITH US AND HE CAN DWELL WITH US ACCEPTING OUR
PRAISES.WHEN WE SEEK HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS, HE KNOWS TO GIVE US HIS BLESSINGS---WE
MUST SEEK THE SPIRITUAL FIRST.
5 --Is it such a fast that I have chosen? A day for
a man to afflict his soul? is it to bow down his head as a bulrush, and to
spread sackcloth and ashes under him? wilt
thou call this a fast, and an acceptable day to the LORD?---BY FASTING ONE MUST HUMBLE, AND SEEK TO MAKE THINGS
RIGHT WITH HIS CREATOR---IF THE CREATOR SAYS FORGIVE YOUR BROTHER—THEN GO AND
RECONCILE WITH HIM—IN OBEDIENCE TO YOUR MAKER!---LIKEWISE WE SHOULD CORRECT
OURSELVES—BY A FAST WE CAN FIND OUT OUR SINS.
LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR---WITHOUT RECTIFYING SPIRITUAL PROBLEMS WE CANNOT CALL IT A FAST!----DO
NOT THINK IT IS IMPOSSIBLE---WITH GOD’S HELP YOU CAN SOLVE ANY SPIRITUAL
PROBLEM—THEN HE WILL ADD WHAT WE LACK!—FIRST SEEK HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS---SEEK WHAT HE SAYS IS CORRECT!
6- Is not
this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo
the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every
yoke?
IF YOUR HEART CONDEMNS YOU OF ANY
WICKEDNESS---DO NOT WAIT---CORRECT YOURSELF IMMEDIATELY—THAT IS HUMBLING
YOURSELF—ASK GOD’S HELP---YOU CAN DO IT!----LEARN TO SAY SORRY OR FORGIVE FROM
YOUR HEART—NOT AS A HYPOCRIT WOULD DO---BUT GOD’S RIGHTEOUSNESS SHOULD BE
APPLIED---THINK OF JESUS CHRIST—HOW WILL HE DO IT?---DO THE SAME WAY.
7 --Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and
that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? When thou seest the
naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own
flesh?
SHARE YOUR FOOD---PHYSICAL AS WELL
AS SPIRITUAL---NOW THE HOUSE OF
8--Then shall thy light break forth as the morning,
and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go
before thee; the glory of the LORD shall be thy reward.
IF YOU DO LIKEWISE—THEN
---THEN ONLY YOUR LIGHT WILL SHINE---YOU WILL BE HEALED SPEEDILY---YOUR
RIGHTEOUSNESS SHALL BE COUNTD BY GOD THEN!
WE SHALL BE REWARDED WITH THE GLORY OF THE LORD!
9--Then shalt thou call, and the LORD shall answer;
thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am. If thou take away from the midst
of thee the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity;
TAKE
AWAY THE POINTING FINGER TO SAY THAT YOU SHOULD BE BEHIND A WORK OF VANITY---TO
SEEK YOUR GLORY—THAT IS A BURDEN THAT WAS PUT ON GOD’S PEOPLE—THAT IS A YOKE—A
BURDEN TO CARRY---THEREFORE THE LEADERS MUST TAKE AWAY THIS BURDEN FROM
PEOPLE—IT IS A WORK TO GLORYFY MAN!-----IF YOU DO TAKE AWAY THE YOKE FROM
PEOPLE---THEN GOD WILL LISTEN---AND SAY HERE I AM!
10--And if thou draw out thy soul to the hungry,
and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall thy light rise in obscurity, and thy
darkness be as the noonday:---NOW THE CHURCH IS IN WILDERNESS, IN
DARKNESS, AS NO NEW REVELATIONS—OR FOOD FROM GOD IS GIVEN EXCEPT THE FEEDING
OF JUDGMENT WHICH OF COURSE IS TEACHING AND WARNING (EZK.34:16).---BUT WHEN
THE CHURCH CORRECTS HERSELF BY RPENTING---WHEN THEY MAKE GOD’S PEOPLE HAPPY—BY
TAKING CARE OF THEM ---THEN THE DARKNESS WILL BE REMOVED (EZK 34:12,13)
11 --And the LORD shall guide thee continually, and
satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a
watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.—GOD WILL THUS
FEED YOU AND BE MERCIFUL TO YOU,
12-- And they that shall be of thee shall build the
old waste places: thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations; and
thou shalt be called, The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to
dwell in.----ONLY
WHEN YOU REPENT AND TURN TO THE LORD , THAT YOU WILL BE RESTORING PATHS TO LIVE
IN!
13-- If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath,
from doing thy pleasure on My holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the
holy of the LORD, honourable; and shalt honour Him, not doing thine own
ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking
thine own words:
IF YOU KEEP GOD’S HOLY
DAYS AS GOD HAS INSTRUCTED, WITHOUT DOING YOUR PLEASURES AND HONOURING GOD
TRULY---
14 -Then shalt thou delight thyself in the LORD;
and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee
with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken
it.
THE
MOUTH OF THE LORD SPEAKS---WHEN YOU REPENT AND COME BACK TO HIM---HE WILL CAUSE
YOU TO RIDE UPON THE HIGH PLACES OF THE EARTH---AND FEED YOU WITH THE HERITAGE
OF JACOB---GLORY TO THE GREAT AND MERCIFUL GOD WE HAVE!
IT IS A TIME THAT ALL
THERE
WAS NO OTHER TIME THAT IS URGENT AS NOW—BECAUSE OF THE CHURCH SPLIT OF
REV.11:1,2—THE TIMES ARE AT THE DOOR—REV. 11:15 –WILL BE THE MOST SPECTACULAR
EVENT—WHICH IS AT THE DOOR—REPENT, AND COME BACK TO GOD---THIS IS A CALL TO
REPENTANCE---A VERY URGENT CALL!
LET
ALL GOD’S PEOPLE RISE UP TO MAKE GOD’S VISION COME TO PASS---TO BE A PEOPLE, A
NAME, A PRAISE, AND A GLORY TO OUR LORD GOD!---LET US SAY ---“THEY WOULD HEAR”!
Jer.13:11--For as the girdle cleaveth to the loins
of a man, so have I caused to cleave unto me the whole house of Israel and the
whole house of Judah, saith the LORD; that they might be unto me for a people,
and for a name, and for a praise, and for a glory: but they would not hear.
Zec 8:19 --"Thus says the LORD of hosts: ‘The fast of the fourth
month, The fast of the fifth, The fast of the seventh, And the fast of the
tenth, Shall be joy
and gladness and cheerful feasts For the house of
Most
prophecies of Zechariah are fulfilled and this verse is also a prophecy—“Shall be”—joy and
gladness---to be fulfilled—and
another command with it---“therefore
love truth and peace”—
AT A TIME WHEN GOD HAD GONE AWAY
FROM THEM AND WHEN THEY REPENT AND COME BACK TO HIM WHAT JOY WILL FILL THE
EARTH?
IT WILL BE REALLY JOY AND
GLADNESS---TRUE HAPPINESS IS VERY NEAR TO ALL OF US---WHEN THEY REPENT! ---FAST
AND REPENT!
TO LOVE TRUTH AND PEACE---FAST AND
REPENT.
